wild clay modern rustic pourer 1

wild clay modern rustic pourer 1

$45.00

A very rustic alternative to a creamer or ‘pourer’ … I am pretty much obsessed with this form. It sits exceedingly well in the hand and looks absolutely ancient, but is decidedly modern.

The base of the ‘pourer’ is pinched, then tiny coils of clay are added to form the spout … I love the wafting edges … so organic, but very functional.

For this series I’m using wild clay dug from my property. The ‘pourer’ exterior is left raw, the wood and salt firing giving it a lustrous gun-metal finish. The liner glaze is a warm, mottled yellow ochre with crushed cobalt blue and Coke bottle aqua beach glass, from my beloved North Beach in Port Townsend, WA, to create a wonderful pool of sea blues and greens at the base, accented with serendipitous rivulets of melted ash.

Very much one-of-a-kind!

Approximately 2.25in x 3.75in x 2.75in tall
